CMSA-Atlanta Installs New Officers and Board Members
Case Management Society of America - Atlanta is the official chapter for the Atlanta, GA area. We represent nurses, social workers, and allied healthcare professionals dedicated to the practice of case management.
CMSA, founded in 1990, is the professional organization dedicated to the support and development of the profession of case management through educational forums, networking opportunities and legislative involvement. Case management professionals help patients get healthier faster and help curtail the exorbitant costs that too often afflict the nation’s health care system.
What's a Case Manager?
Case management services are provided by healthcare professionals working with people to identify issues and barriers that may prevent them from getting better and uncovering mutually agreed upon solutions to achieve their healthcare goals.
Case managers work with individuals and families to understand their illness or injury, what the individual/family needs to do to participate with the clinical team, follow the treatment plan and the path to reaching the best possible outcomes.
Where Do Case Managers Work?
Case managers work in a variety of specialties, including health care, mental health care, addictions, long-term care, aging, HIV/AIDS, disabilities, occupational services, child welfare, and immigrant/refugee services. They are employed in the public, nonprofit, and for-profit sectors.
